Robosoccer

An action packed week…rooms roaring with cheers….and lots of enthusiastic faces.....
the description precisely fits the atmosphere around Robosoccer 2009 conducted by IEEE-VESIT held from 14th to 19 September 2009.
The event put to test the innovative mind and gaming skills of engineering students of VESIT.

After the seminar and workshops were done with it was, indeed, the time to test how well was the knowledge assimilated by the members and to ensure the same what better way than a competition!!!!!!

With this in mind the Robofest competition was designed by the council members to test the robots on the parameters of design, sturdiness, speed and even the abilities of the operator were examined with series of events.

However the main showstopper event was the Robosoccer. Soccer being a globally loved game the event was designed keeping the basic rules intact and modifying a few so as to retain the excitement of the game as well as to incorporate the machine limitations. As expected a series of adrenaline-rushing rounds with teams often finishing neck to neck were witnessed.

The event indeed received terrific and response overall and the Finale was indeed a treat to all the spectators. The event witnessed unique kicking mechanisms implemented by teams for their respective robots, and also some brilliant maneuvering skills.

Overall, the event was a great learning and highly competitive experience for the participants and very exuberant and exhilarating one for the spectators.
